Yorkshire retained their LV=CC Title for the first time since 1968, as closest rivals Nottinghamshire collapsed at Trent Bridge.
Earlier in the day, the Vikings bowled Middlesex out for a scanty 106 as Ryan Sidebottom running a riot to claim figures of 5/18, three of the wickets coming in an unplayable first over leaving the home side at 0/3.
Middlesex never really had to bother recovering thereafter with Yorkshire attacking relentlessly, and ruthlessly to ensure the home side were never an obstacle on the White Rose county's way to a successive county championship title.
Nottinghamshire, who had to score in excess of 400 to claim maximum batting and bonus points, were then skittled for 204 which was 146 runs short of the required total to delay Yorkshire's march towards the title. However, that never was to happen.
